There was fine weather in Portimao with a temperature of 12° for the OK Super Heats of the Champions of the Future on Sunday morning.
In Super Heat 1, Matheus Morgatto (KR/Iame) quickly lost the lead to Ean Eyckmans (Tony Kart/Vortex). Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) was very fast and took over the lead at the halfway point of the race to win with the fastest lap. Morgatto came back strongly and finished 2nd, Eyckmans 3rd, Tomas Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) 4th and Oscar Pedersen (Tony Kart/Vortex) 5th ahead of Maxim Rehm (LN/Vortex). Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) was 8th, and Kean Nakamura Berta (KR/Iame) 10th. The two Frenchmen were not at the celebration with Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) 15th and Arthur Rogeon (KR/Iame) 22nd.
An incident involved a large number of drivers in the first lap of the Super Heat 2 which was interrupted by a red flag. A new start was given for 12 laps after the damage was repaired on the 10 damaged karts. Artem Severiukhin (Tony Kart/Vortex) was leading a few lengths ahead of Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) and David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex). Severiukhin took off to victory with a 1.9″ lead. Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 2nd with the fastest lap in the last few metres against Walther, followed by Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart/Vortex). Coluccio was 5th ahead of Alex Powell (KR/Iame). Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) was 12th after a difficult start.
