The rain had started in Trinec for the OK-Junior Final of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. Dries van Langendonck (Exprit/TM), who had won everything up to that point, was 12th on the grid due to a minor technical problem in Super Heat 1. Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) and Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex) were on the front row. The track was wet, but not soaking wet, as the rain was still light.
Wherrell started in the lead ahead of Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) and Slater, but Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) spun and dragged several drivers into the crash, including the only two Frenchmen, Andy Consani (Parolin/TM) and Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM). Costoya had dropped back to 5th ahead of Zac Dummond (Parolin/TM) and Jindrich Pesl (IPK/TM) before the slow procedure was deployed. Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) and Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM) were 3rd and 4th. Eliott Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex) retired on the restart, and Pesl fell to 16th. Wherrell increased his lead, more than 8 tenths on the fifth lap. Bondarev and Wolfe followed in the top three. Wherrell suddenly retired on lap 6 after an uncontrolled slide. Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) also retired. Van Langendonck was back in 6th place not far from Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame). Bondarev was in the lead 1,5″ ahead of Wolfe, Slater followed at 1,3″, then Drummond in 4th place, while Costoya was back in 7th place. Alp Hasan Askoy (Tony Kart/Vortex) had moved up to 9th place with a gain of 25 places. While the top two had escaped, 3rd place was far from being decided, with Drummond and Martinese not far behind Slater, soon to be joined by van Langendonck. Drummond attacked for 3rd place on lap 14, with Martinese following him in 4th ahead of Slater. Van Langendonck then took 5th place. The track dried out in part as the rain became lighter and lighter. No doubt that the pressure choices at the start were crucial. Bondarev won the race with the best lap 4,6” ahead of Wolfe. Martinese passed Drummond on the last lap to take 3rd place. Van Langendonck was 5th (+7 pl) ahead of Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) +17 pl. Slater finished 7th, Costoya 10th. 13 karts did not finish.
