The sun was more conspicuous by its absence than its brilliance at Val d’Argenton during OK Qualifying for the second round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, but the track was dry and the temperature was close to 15°C.
Session 1: Francis – 49”620
Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM) led on the first lap from Jimmy Hélias (KR/Iame). On the second lap, the best drivers went under 50” with Lewis Francis (KR/Iame) ahead of Hélias. Francis confirmed his lead on the third lap with a time of 49’620. Hélias remained in 2nd place just 8 thousandths behind, followed by Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) in 3rd place 75 thousandths behind and Wolfe in 4th place 0.125″ behind. Eemeli Koivisto (Falcon/Iame) completed the top five ahead of Kai Rillaerts (Sodi/TM). Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was 17th.
Session 2: Cosma Cristofor – 49”606
David Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) led the first lap ahead of Davide Bottaro (CRG/Iame). Mark Dubnitski (CRG/Iame) took the lead on the second lap, but Cosma Cristofor improved on his pole position of 49”606 on the third lap. Dubnitski remained 2nd at 64 thousandths, Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) was 3rd at 71 thousandths, then Jindrich Pesl (CRG/TM) 4th at 0.122” and Bottaro 5th followed by Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM). Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame) finished 22nd and Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) 23rd.
Session 3: Drummond – 49”729
Freddie Lloyd (LN/TM) was soon in action ahead of Luna Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame), who took the lead on lap 2. Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) led on the third lap from Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) and finished the session with 49”729, 2 hundredths ahead of the Ukrainian. Matteo Giaccardi (Exprit/TM) was 3rd at 46 thousandths, then Fluxa Cross 4th and Casper Henriksen (Tony Kart/TM) 5th at 76 thousandths. Tom Dussol (CRG/Iame) was 11th.
