Despite request for a false start, Flavio Camponeschi (TonyKart / Vortex) dominates and won the KF2 final, 3 seconds ahead of the competition. He is therefore the European KF2 Champion for 2008. He had been unbeatable throughout the weekend in Portugal. Second was not far off in performance and had tried when the leader seemed slower, but couldn’t get anywhere so Robert Foster-Jones and his FA Kart / Vortex are vice-champions of Europe.
The Belgian Robin Frijns has put red on podium with his Birel / TM. Robin attacked from start to finish to take 3rd place final in, overcoming Mirko Luciani and Oliver Rowland. In fourth, Petri Suvanto finally took a place consistent with his talent after a lack of success this season.
Oliver Rowland fought for 3rd place throughout the race, especially with Luciani and Frijns, but he finally finished 5th. There was disappointment for Tom Grice who was excluded after leaving the track during a clash at the very beginning of the race.
James Thorp managed a good comeback to 7th place at the end. Jack Harvey must be very disappointed after not being able to move up in the finals and he finished his first European KF2 Championship in a modest 13th position.
Sami Luka, who was well placed in the middle of the race, lost places before the end. Loïc Réguillon moved up to 20th after a difficult prefinal. In contrast, William Benedetti was in reverse despite his best efforts and was 25th. Penalised for his clutch after the Prefinal, Karol Basz could not take part in the Final.
