The weather was gray and cool on Saturday morning in Las Vegas. Strong wind and rain would be expected by the end of the day. This didn’t stop the Energy drivers opening the throttle and dominating the second qualifying heat for KF2. Nicolaj Moller-Madsen, long leader of the race, had to finally give way to a very determined Joel Johansson after his mishap the day before. Sami Luka clocked the fastest time, while pocketing 5th.
Gustavo Menezes (Tony Kart / Vortex) was their most dangerous opponent, finishing third just ahead of Brett Felkin (Intrepid / TM). The race had notable dropouts, beginning with José Olmedo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Andrick Zeen (Sodi / Parilla), victim of a cooling problem, and finally Philipp Orcic (Zanardi / Parilla) 3 laps from the end.
