There was a new front row for the prefinal in KZ2 with the young Charly Bizalion (Intrepid / TM) alongside Thomas Mich (Birel / TM). But it was Mathieu Gaillard (Energy / TM) who took the lead, although Mich replied instantly. Neither Charly Bizalion or Yan Pesce (BRM / TM) were going very well well. Yuri Lucati (BRM / TM) grabbed second position, Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) 4th from Morgan Weber (Merlin / TM), Pesce and Tony Lavanant (PCR / TM). Pierre Ragues and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter) were 8th and 9th.
It was a tight duel between Lucati, the leader, and Mich. Weber lunged to gain 3rd place. Mich took the lead, Lucati wanted to reply, but Weber took the chance to get 2nd. Mich now had a little more room, but we were only halfway through the race. Moreover, Gaillard had again taken third. Fiault and Bizalion took Lavanant on the same lap. Lucati surprised Mich and was back in the lead, Gaillard was not really near and nor was Pesce.
Lap 11: Gaillard attacked, taking the lead to the surprise of Lucati, and Pesce took the advantage from MRT driver Mich. Lucati got caught on the last lap by Gaillard who won before another Auvergne driver, Yan Pesce who also took Lucati. Mich was 4th, 5th was Weber and Bizalion 6th.
