Despite a penalty given when going too slow, Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) has kept the lead in KF after the heats of the 2013 Winter Cup. In view of its performance on the track, it is well deserved, as he won his five races. Two other drivers pulled away from the rest: the Croatian Martin Kodric (FA Kart / Vortex) was second in the intermediate rankings and the French driver Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM) in 7th after an engine failure in the last race. The Finn Aatu Moilanen (Kosmic / Vortex) combined consistency and speed to keep third position ahead of the Dane Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex).
Beautiful driving from Victor Compere (Kosmic / Parilla), 11th to Sébastien Bailly, very convincing on his Birel / TM. Without an engine failure, Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / TM) would have been much higher in the rankings than his 18th place, so he is already in the game for his first KF race. Valentin Moineault (ART GP / TM) qualified in 23rd position, running regularly in the top 10.
The two Kosmic / Vortex drivers were very fast but in the Repechage – Luca Corberi and Armand Convers. In 41st, Nicolas Gonzales (Kosmic / Vortex) encountered a lot of problems with his reed and made a big comeback in the last heat.
