Rick Dreezen (Zanardi / Parilla) took the lead of the KZ Prefinal ahead of Arnaud Kozlinski (Intrepid / TM), Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex), Jonathan Thonon (Praga / Parilla), Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Maxter) and Yannick De Brabander (CRG / TM). Camponeschi, Lammers, Cesetti and three other drivers retired at the first corner. Kozlinski returned to the lead on the third lap ahead of Ardigo and Dreezen. Davide Fore (CRG / TM) moved up to 9th from Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM). Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) was 12th, making up for lost time at the start.
Ardigo took control on the fifth lap, Thonon and Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) were pushing behind Dreezen. Thonon took 3rd place on the 7th lap. Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) passed Lennox for 6th position. Thonon came back hard on Kozlinski who was still second, three tenths faster than the French driver. He dived inside under braking and went for second on the 10th of 15 laps. Sensing the threat behind him, Ardigo didn’t ease up on the track. Thonon set a beautiful fastest lap, although couldn’t deprive Ardigo of victory. Kozlinski finished 3rd ahead of Dreezen, Hanley was 5th, Pex 6th, De Brabander 7th and Lennox-Lamb 8th.
