The Austrian Thomas Preining arrives in Valencia after a very solid season in the Euro Challenge that led to the title with impressive ease. The Dutchman Richard Verschoor, second in the Euro Challenge and winner of the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy, also has strong arguments against the major hopefuls from the British delegation: Dean MacDonald was on the podium of the Euro Challenge, Alex Quinn finished 5th and David Wooder 6th. But the Belgian Max Timmermans took fourth position in this benchmark Championship. The Estonian Juri Vips has a lot of experience, and the Italian Alex has had two full seasons in KF-Junior where the Lithuanian Rokas Baciuska had the opportunity to get noticed recently, and the Spaniard Mauricio Van Der Laan represents the best chance of his country with the advantage of running at home.
The only French Junior is Nathan Hédouin who earned its place in Valencia by winning the National NSK category. In addition to the favourites we know after watching them in Europe, other contenders could well come from less familiar regions and cause some surprises.
