The sky was very mixed with big grey clouds on the horizon but a dry track for the KZ2 Final. The pack rushes to the lights with Stan Pex (CRG / Vortex) led ahead of Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex), Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena) and Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex). Corberi took the lead, soon followed by Federer, while Besancenez fell to 8th after an attack from Lorandi, then Alessandro Irlando (Energy / TM) fought against the Baby Race driver for 4th position.
Corberi widened the gap on Federer who had distanced Pex, and the chasing pack remained bunched behind 3rd. Besancenez recovered as best he could, in 6th ahead of Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nicolas Gonzales (Sodi / TM). He then passed Alex (Irlando) and attempted an attack on Lorandi who defended and the group of four closed on Federer. Corberi extended his lead to over 4″ on lap 18. Besancenez managed to defeat his friend Lorandi on the 19th of 25 laps. Pex had to yield to Besancenez followed by Lorandi. The French even closed on Federer but did not have time to pass.
It was a beautiful victory for Corberi, 4.2” ahead of Federer, with Besancenez 3rd, Lorandi 4th, Pex 5th, Irlando 6th then the holder of the fastest lap, Gonzales in 7th.
