Rotax took the opportunity of the 20th RMC Grand Finals currently taking place at Sarno (IT) to present the second generation of its competition electric karts to the press. As part of its overall strategy to offer an electric model throughout its range, BRP Rotax has designed its new kart to replace the ThundEr entirely in-house.
The search for performance that governed its design was achieved by reducing weight, refocusing the masses and extending battery life. The new model now includes liquid cooling for its main components. The drive is now direct.
No figures have been provided on the weight, power or battery life of the beast since these specifications will only be final after a definitive series of tests on track. However, we know that the powertrain runs at 350V like the rest of the BRP Rotax electrified products. This kart should replace the ThundEr in the DEKM by 2020.
It will be presented in action on the Sarno track on Saturday 26th October so that the many RMCGF spectators can enjoy its performances.
