The starting grid for the second heat in KZ is virtually identical to heat 1. The lights did not change much as Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead with Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid / TM) in his wake. Antonio Piccioni quickly took Beitske Visser and Bas Lammers to take fourth position. Roberto Toninelli (Lenzo / TM) was inserted into the sixth position ahead soon ahead of Visser.
Dreezen controlled his teammate Ardigo, closely followed by Iglesias. Fastest lap for Dreezen in mid-race. There was fighting on all levels, even at the end of the pack where there were top drivers like Thonon, Kozlinski, Cesetti and Hanley.
There was a twist on the eighth lap with the retirement of Dreezen on the last right leaving the win to Ardigo from Iglesias, Piccioni and Visser, who retook to Toninelli and Lammers. Dreezen watched, annoyed and helpless, the victory of his teammate.
