… All frames are then checked thoroughly with laser precision thanks to Sodikart special machines. Competition frames enjoy, once again, special attention, with the use of a special type of marble (and stressing) that allows for extreme precision. Welders work in individual areas and regularly change tasks to avoid routine. Their expertise is an important element in the overall quality of the product, therefore frequent training sessions are held.
The following stage brings us to the pre-assembly area, equipped with controlled access. Starting from here, work is based on customer requirements, with all possible customisations. About 20 people work hard to comply with even the shortest delivery terms. All necessary parts are gathered with a view to the serial assembling of karts in the following department. It is not necessary to point out that teams are motivated by the quality and speed of their work. The statistical tables show their monthly results. In this area of the factory, task organisation is highly visible. The workshop changes constantly its layout according to the orders received, thanks to a series of mobile structures. Let’s not forget that about 30-40 complete karts for rent leave this department every day, duly checked and accompanied by their individual technical sheet. Then karts are packed and dispatched to every corner of the world, straight from the loading area, since Sodikart does not store its finished products.
The competition sector becomes a distinct area from this stage on, because the number of karts is lower and even greater attention is needed. In their separate workshop, Sodi team members live at race pace. Track tests, chassis adjustments, engine preparation: there is a wide range of operations, but rigour is the same as in the rest of the factory.
