It stopped raining on Ostricourt during the warmup, but the nocturnal rainfall left the track still wet for qualifying in KZ2. Of course, the line gradually dried and the best performance logically came at the very end of session.
Thus Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) set the best time on the wire with 1’07”386. Christophe Benoit (Birel / TM), Pierre-Etienne Chaumat (Energy / Maxter) and Clement Da Silva (Birel / TM) were involved in a fight with Thomas Mich (Birel / TM) and Pierre Rague (Sodi / TM). Da Silva took 2nd position ahead of Ragues, Benoit and Mich. Uncomfortable in the wet, Norman Nato was only 16th.
The Norman Pierre Gasly (Sodi / Parilla) finished top of the timesheet in KF3 after a fight with Alex Baron (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Pascal Belmaaziz (Intrepid / TM) who followed in that order. There was a change of leaders on almost every lap on a still drying track. Hubert Anthoine (Tony Kart / Vortex) led Deguffroy Remy (Tony Kart / Vortex), but this will be renegotiated in the Super Pole.
All equipped with wet tires, the Belgians who were experienced in KF2, Glenn Keyaert (CRG / Maxter) and Guillaume De Ridder (Kosmic / Vortex) were beaten by Loïc Réguillon who dominated the session with a time of 1’08 ‘ ‘429. Vincent Fraïsse (Intrepid / TM) skillfully slipped into in 3rd position between De Ridder and Keyaert. In 5th, the Luxembourg driver Rick Nadin (CRG / Maxter) deprived Sébastien Bailly (Tony Kart / Vortex) of a place in the Super Pole.
