Formation Laps – Rowland and Otero are on the front row. With two formation laps there is maximum tension before the 22 laps of the final.
Start – As the red lights go off Rowland stays first, but Beretta crashes into 3rd-placed Fontana causing a major incident at the Rascasse with seven karts involved. The yellow flags and “Slow” panels come out, in the manner of the safety car in F1.
Lap 4 : Green flags and a restart. The order is Rowland, Beretta, Fontana, Otero, Harvey and Maisano.
Lap 5 : No change in the top six, but Maisano pursues Harvey and Timmy Hansen is 7th.
Lap 8 : Otero threatens Fontana who gives in.
Lap 9 : Maisano seeks an opening to get by Harvey Lap 11 – Max Goff, who had been down in 30th, follows Maisano after taking Lennox-Lamb and Olmedo.
Lap 12 : Otero retires, leaving the top five as Rowland, Beretta, Harvey, Maisano, Goff.
Lap 13 : Goff chases down Maisano and passes him at the tobacco shop curve.
Lap 14 : Harvey approaches Beretta, but Goff is following in his wheeltracks
Lap 16 : Rowland pulls away as Goff takes Harvey then Beretta. Harvey passes Beretta, touching the Tecpro driver when Maisano attacked him.
Lap 17 : Goff is now within 1.5 seconds of Rowland.
Lap 18 : Rowland is off at the Swimming Pool and retires! Possibly because of a mechanical problem.
Goff is the leader!
Lap 20 : From 30th place, Goff wins the 2007 Monaco Junior Grand Prix.
