Unlike the other two categories, the hard Dunlop tyres of KF3 achieve good performance throughout the duration of the meeting. Brandon Maisano (Intrepid/TM) moved into pole position has was steadily
improving over the laps with a best time of 49.241. In the final laps, Marc Coleselli (Birel/XTR) was credited with a time of 41.966 – impossible! Behind Maisano, Carlos Sainz (FA Kart/Vortex) took third
ahead of Gerard Barrabeig on the same equipment.
Nick De Vries (Zanardi/XTR) dominated the category and took pole far ahead of everyone else with 48.897. Ignacio D’Agosto (Tonykart/Vortex) is ahead of Nikolaj Moller Madsen, also on a Tonykart. Riccardo
Agostini (Birel/XTR) took his position in an ambush of fifth place. Michelle Gatting (Gillard/XTR) finished in eighth and young Mathieu Jaminet (Birel/TM) managed a superb tenth position.
Finally, Aaro Vainio (Maranello/XTR) won in his group with 49.219. He beat Manuel Bejarano (FA Kart/Vortex) and Alexander Lynn (Birel/TM). Sam Jenkins (Tonykart/Vortex) finished sixth, Max Goff (Topkart/Comer) in 18th. Guillaume De Ridder had to deal with a chassis that found it difficult to deal with the hard rubber and admitted his lack of experience early on in the season.
On aggregate, De Vries was ahead of D’Agosto and Moller Madsen.
