Arnaud Kozlinski was in the lead straight away as the 44-kart starting grid left the slippery starting grid, although it was no longer raining. But Koko soon raised his arm and stopped by the pylon. Thomas Mich inherited first briefly but he was quickly taken by Marco Ardigo. The surprising Christophe Benoit solidly occupied third but was already being chased by Cedric Goudant.
Benjamin Bailly fought with Matias Gallepe, Julien Le Brigand and Simon Ellis for fifth place. Mich attacked Ardigo but he was taken back almost immediately. Outclassed in the semi-final, Abbasse quickly joined the top ten and joined Michael Ryall who was now fifth. Gallepe went off after some misjudged braking and Varutti in eighth had to recover after losing his bodywork. Jonathan Thonon suffered a blackout when he came back to fourth position
Mich kept up with Ardigo but the top three drivers were well-established. Abbasse eventually overtook Ryall and these were the positions until the end. Ardigo won the race by a large margin ahead of Mich and Benoit. Abbasse finished fourth, Ryall fifth, Bailly sixth, followed by Ellis and Le Brigand. Thomas Mich took the 2008 French KZ2 Championship.
