Armand Convers couldn’t get going and took the start of the first KF1 head behind the pack. Sauro Cesetti took control straight away, but Arnaud Kozlinski did not give up and made his move on lap two. The two leaders quickly built up a gap on Jason Parrott, followed distantly by Matias Laine just ahead of Anthony Abbasse. Alessandro Bressan and Florian Alfano touched and found themselves at the back of the field. Michael Ryall did not seem very competitive at this stage of the race in eighth. Gary Catt lost ground, unlike Armand Convers who was coming through.
Behind the leading quartet, things have changed. On lap seven Michael Ryall started to come back and Ramon Kuipers and soon Richard Bradley had passed Abbasse. Convers used the fight of the four in front of him to launch attacks. The PCR driver finished 13th but the race was won by Kozlinski ahead of Cesetti and Parrott. Laine was fourth, Ryall fifth, then Kuipers, Keyeart, Abbasse, Litchfield, Varutti and Stevens.
