Ardigo has been faultless and has a blank score at the end of the qualifying heats. Jonathan Thonon is on the front row alongside the world champion Then there are surprises, good and bad. Manuel Renaudie is in third place, Thomas Mich fifth, Norman Nato eighth which was a very good comeback from his 28th ahead of Alessandro PIccini, also coming from the back. Bas Lammers qualified 13th and will start 13th, just ahead of Joffrey Demanse, who was third fastest but slightly less comfortable with his handling. There was a good recovery for Tony Lavanant, crippled by a 44th in qualifying, and he will start 21st.
The repechage may be a bit hectic with 30 drivers, not least at the start.
Jack Hawksworth couldn’t go as fast as he wished and couldn’t escape his 37th fastest time, but starting in second in the repechage seems doable. Other drivers such as Mathias Gallepe in 17th, Benjamin Bailly 20th, Alessandro Manetti 22nd and Pierre Etienne Chaumat 27th.
