The CIK would have approved of the start after the drivers respected the speed limit of 50kph and the first parade ap went without incident. 30kph through the first control, 42kph in the second, and then they went. Certainly the karts seemed slower but safety is the most important thing (!?)
Armand Convers was overtaken on the first lap by Marco Ardigo, while Gary Catt crashed and retired. Anthony Abbasse also went off, Sauro Cesetti ended up with a twisted nassau panel and Arnaud Kozlinski took to the grass. Convers took back the leadership at the end of the lap. Ryall and Iglesias retired on the next lap, apparently with mechanical problems. Cesetti retired a little while later.
On lap five, Convers led ahead of Ardigo, Laine, Bressan, Te Braak, De Brabander, Bollingtoft and Fore who had lost places. Then came Toman, Guignet, Parrott, Litchfield and Kozlinski in 13th. Ardigo successful attacked Convers on the seventh lap. Abbasse finally retired but Kozlinski gained a place and Te Braak lost two. Bressan overcame Laine. De Brabander came back rapidly and also took Laine, on the tenth lap. There was a duel between Kozlinski and Guignet which went the way of Kozlinski.
Once he got away, Bressan took Convers who showed a slight loss of speed. Fore went back to sixth. De Brabander then seized the advantage from Laine and Convers, who was visibl slower now. He was obliged to yield to Fore then Bollingtoft and then Kozlinski on lap 17. He eventually tangled with Te Braak and retired. Kozlinski finally managed to take Bollingtoft. As it got nearer the end, it looked as though De Brabander could overtake Bressan but the Italian resisted.
Victory went to Marco Ardigo, with Alessandro Bressan second and Yannick De Brabander third. Laine was fourth, Fore fifth and Kozlinski sixth.
