With clear skies and the temperature already high, the official time trials start at last for KF1. Mark Litchfield crossed the bar at 5700 rpm and could not take the start. The first group were slightly faster
than the second, but more importantly, the first round of sessions were 3 to 4 tenths faster on average, because of the heat and tyre wear. Competitors were on track for the last 4 or 5 minutes of each
session.
Davide Forè posted the best time of 51”839, but Arnaud Kozlinski, despite in the slower session, followed by only 6 thousandths. Marco Ardigo and Libor Toman were 3rd and 4th by 1 thousandth of a second. Jean-Philippe Guignet was 5th. It was not until Yannick De Brabander in 6th that there was a driver from the second set. Laine, Convers, Bressan and Stevens completed the top 10.
Sauro Cesetti posted the 12th fastest time, nearly 4 tenths off the pole, closely followed by Michael Ryall. Te Braak was 17th, Catt 19th. Abbasse in 22nd headed a quartet of French drivers Gazzurelli, Alfano and Varutti.
