Clearly, nobody can beat Flavio Camponeschi in KF2 this season. European champion and winner of the World Cup, the drover from the Junior Tony Kart Racing Team is absolutely unbeatable. By winning the final of the WSK in Zuera, Camponeschi also became the champion of this category which went down to the wire with Smarrazzo and Harvey.
The second row disappeared even before the start with Zdenek Groman who couldn’t get started and the retirement of Sami Luka who suffered engine cutouts. Benedetti took second place, while Rowland attacked Simon Julve. James Thorp crashed badly at the hairpin and returned, axle distorted, to the pits. The battle raged behind Camponeschi: Rowland took second place with Smarrazzo on his heels and Harvey behind that. Benedetti had lost ground, and was followed by Joel Johansson, Luis Miguel Villalba and Andrea Dale. Zdenek Groman was actively coming back.
Benedetti returned to Harvey and passed on the 5th lap. The driver fought like a devil with equipment that was noticeably less efficient than the competition. He resisted Johansson and Villalba. A great battle was established between Rowland, Smarrazzo and Benedetti, the French Kosmic. Smarrazzo passed Rowland, fixed on his possible victory in the championship. Harvey came past Villalba, followed by Dale and Simon Julve.
On the 13th lap, Rowland took 2nd place from Smarrazzo, causing a reaction from the FA Kart driver. Aniello attempted a suicidal attack on Rowland that slowed them both. Benedetti, who was watching the fight, took the opportunity to move skillfully into second place. Smarrazzo did not accept it and caused a clash at the first bend. The result: downfall for both drivers with two laps until the finish …
