British racing driver Jack Hawksworth, classified 7th in the last KZ2 European Championship, has signed for the Energy-Fly Kart Factory Racing team for the 2009 season.
Hawksworth visited the factory before a deal was struck for Jack to race for the Energy team in the KZ1 World Cup, KZ2 WSK Series, KZ2 European Championship and KZ2 German Championship in the 2009 season.
“First of all id just like to say thank you to the PDB Racing team and Gillard racing karts. It has been an honour to race for you this year, you guys are a superb.
I have decided to move to the Energy Corse team in 2009 however as I see it as a new chapter and another step in my career. I’m very much looking forward to working with my new team and driving the Energy Chassis and TM-Rizzi engines for the first time. I hope we can make a strong team and challenge for wins and championships.”
