A duel between the Intrepid / Sodi opponents Brandon Maisano and Loïc Reguillon was expected. But no, things didn’t happen that way. The start was hectic, to say the least, and Jimmy Antunès suffered an front brake system imbalance, put a tyre in the grass, and crossed the path of the two leaders when he got back on the track. Maisano was then pushed onto the gravel trap and Reguillon was transformed into a springboard for Da Luz and Bluy. The race resut wuld be distorted, and there was no chance for the two favourites.
In the confusion, the wily British driver Sam Snell took command, with Sebastien Bailly raging behind him. Paul-Loup Chatin started well and quickly gained 3rd place, under threat from Guillaume De Ridder. Much of the interest during the race was in Bailly reeling in Snell and the possibility of him overtaking. The difference between the two drivers was decreasing. Da Luz found good pace in the end to take 3rd place ahead of De Ridder and Chatin. Loïc Reguillon achieved a good comeback to bounce back to 6th position, while Maisano had to settle for 10th.
For the win, everything would be decided in the last 2 laps. Bailly found an opening, albeit narrowly, on Snell, but he closed it and Bailly couldn’t make the move stick. Bailly tried up the inside for his last chance in the last corner, but in vain. Sam Snell won the KF2 final ahead of the Belgian Sébastien Bailly and Portuguese David Da Luz.
