The qualifying heats are now over and the rain has still not arrived, and no one is complaining. The races have not been short of dramatic turns of events. To begin with, Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) could not start in the 5th heat: he got away last. Manuel Renaudie (Gillard / Parilla) made a great start and moved in front, while Brandon Maisano (LH/Maxter) was cautious in 4th position behind Gary Catt (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Zdenek Groman (Maranello / Parilla) .
Ardigo launched a big campaign to get back to 8th position, followed by Laura Tillett (Gillard / Parilla) who had a good race. Maïsano finished 3rd, and Renaudie won the race from Catt. Davide Fore’ (CRG / Maxter) was down in 17th position after spinning at the end of the race.
The last heat promised an interesting confrontation between Ben Hanley (Maranello / Maxter), Alessandro Bressan (Kosmic / Vortex), but things turned out differently. Aaro Vainio (Maranello / Maxter) followed Hanley, while Bressan, in 3rd, was overcome by Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter). Yannick De Brabander (Intrepid / TM) ran in both 4th and 5th position. Arnaud Kozlinski (CRG / Maxter) was only 8th. Suddenly, Vainio appeared at the top of the rankings. An attempt by Thonon on Hanley resulted in a clash which left Hanley missing some bodywork and Thonon lost many places.
With a few laps to go, De Brabander took second place from Bressan. Kozlinski reappeared in the top 3 while Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex) closed on his teammate. He was delighted with 4th place for a few moments, but Alessandro retook it. Vainio won the heat easily from Koko and De Brabander, and Bressan and Convers. Thonon took the 11th position.
