The Chinese have worked all night to rebuild the damaged part of the surface and the races have started on Sunday morning. The sky is overcast, it is 28° C, there is wind, but rain is not here yet.
Patches of the track have a lot of dust when the karts cross them so most air boxes have been rotated or covered. The lap times have increased by about 4″ and the repaired corners are particularly slippery. However, unlike yesterday, there is a lot of overtaking, which is sometimes spectacular.
The difficult conditions did not affect the aggressiveness of Ben Hanley (Maranello / Maxter) who had a tough fight with Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Aaro Vainio (Maranello / Maxter) in the 1st heat in the morning. There was a great performance from Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) who eventually overcame Ardigo to grab second place. Starting last because of a recalcitrant engine, Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex) came back to 6th position behind Sauro Cesetti (Birel / Parilla).
Alessandro Bressan (Kosmic / Vortex) dominated the second race, leading from start to finish. Behind him, Yannick De Brabander (Intrepid / TM), Manuel Renaudie (Gillard / Parilla) and Arnaud Kozlinski (CRG / Maxter) were well placed. The Renaudie / Kozlinski fight turned to the advantage of the latter. There was disappointment for Brandon Maisano (LH / Maxter) who has lost several places, finishing 11th due to a too high gearing for the track.
