Although the official team was absent, the satellite teams allowed CRG/Maxter to keep a high profile at the Asia-Pacific KF2 Championship in Suzuka, in this particularly rainy May 2010 in Japan: a victory and a third place rewarded their efforts and confirmed the reliability of equipment put at their disposal.
Final victory for Kiyoto Fukinami, 3rd place for Michelle Gatting.
First of all, the CRG Japan Team could rely on young Kiyoto Fujinami for a final victory, achieved in two stages. By fully exploiting the performance of his CRG/Maxter kart, Kiyoto did the forcing in pre-final and climbed up from 11th to first place. A new challenge was waiting for him in the final race: keep his leadership despite a 8-second penalty for excessive speed at the start. In the rain, he accomplished this difficult mission by creating a big enough time gap over his rivals and offering a brilliant victory to CRG.
Once again, the CRG Junior Team brought out the talent of excellent Michelle Gatting, always fighting to conquer the first places. Ideally placed in 4th position after the pre-final, Michelle lost 10 places during a nervous start in the final race. But she never gave up and the young Danish driver played all her cards right and climbed on the top step of the podium.
