The best drivers in the world gathered in Egypt, at the final round of the 2010 WSK World Series. The CRG Racing Team took advantage of this opportunity not only to conquer two titles – in KZ2 with Thonon and in KF3 with Verstappen – but also to win in Super KF with Kozlinski and in KF2 with Gatting. While everybody was already starting to plan the 2011 season, CRG showed an exceptional level of performance in all the categories.
Already rewarded in the WSK Euro Series this season and capable of exploiting at best the full potential of their karts from the very beginning of the world series, Jonathan Thonon and Max Verstappen, who came to Sharm El Sheik as leaders of the standings, were crowned champions in the WSK World Series, at the end of a meeting where suspense was an ever-present element. Thonon was forced to abandon in the pre-final, while Verstappen was disqualified from the final. But despite these problems, the two champions concluded their seasons as winners.
Arnaud Kozlinski showed all his talent in Super KF on a kart that was perfect both from a performance and a reliability point of view. Winner of 5 out of 6 races, he was absolutely radiant on the highest step of the final podium, preceding Davide Forè who joined him in CRG’s double success. Michelle Gatting would have deserved a better result in KF2 considering her extraordinary progression that impressed all observers up to her victory in the pre-final. Pushed off the track at the start of the final, she had no choice but to abandon.
