While drivers were getting ready for the start of the last GPO of the year, the Sodi Racing Team was preparing to add another series of successes to its already long list of achievements. Indeed, over the weekend in Laval Sodi posted as many as six victories, including three double successes and two triple victories, and the drivers of the factory finished twelve times on the podium.
The French Championship was equally fruitful, with Anthony Abbasse and Pierre Gasly conquering the titles in KZ2 and KF3 respectively and Pierre Ragues and Charles Leclerc following suit. Sodi won the constructors’ championship in these two categories in addition of the title of Champion of Champions, a title awarded to the most successful constructor over a season.
Pierre Gasly concluded his winning series in KF3 with the title plus a victory on Sunday, but it was Léo Roussel, from Ludo Racing team – who had won the previous day for the first time – who proved that the official team had no monopoly of success. Anthony Abbasse dominated the season in KZ2 and concluded with a victory, too, but Sodi chassis also enabled Pierre Ragues from Racing Services Team to win in Ostricourt and to secure a double success in Laval, while Charles Fiault put in a noteworthy performance with a victory in the pre-final and a second and a third place in the finals.
In KF2, Sodi also finished the season in beauty with Alex Baron, who secured the third place in the Championship thanks to his increasingly convincing performances. US driver Andrick Zeen raised the tone, too, so much so that he achieved the first podium in his career.
Gildas Mérian, Sodi CEO, confessed he was very satisfied with these results and also with the spectacular success of the new TTT technology used on Sodi chassis, which announces a very promising 2011 season.
