Overall, the World Final Rotax started in a encouraging way for “Team France” in southern Italy, especially in the first rounds of heats. In Rotax Max Alexander Benedict Bessac finished every heat, finishing seventh twice. Antoine Barthon (pictured above) started with a good 6th place, but alas had problems in the second and settled for 22nd place.
In Rotax DD2, Damien Vuillaume superbly managed his races, finishing third twice. Dominique Chech was eighth and 17th in succession. But a water leak was detected, hence the lost places at the end of the heat.
Rotax DD2 Master Stéphane Picque initially finished 12th, before making his way back up to 6th position. Guillaume Berteaux continued to seek to improve his kart, he finished 15th and 13th. As for Jules Afonso, in Rotax Junior, he progressed well in the first part of the race before dropping back to 14th place. Alas, he was optimistic in an action in the second heat and dropped to 30th. For him, a spot in the repechage seems assured!
All drivers will compete in one more round each on Saturday, November 20, after which we will know the starting grids of the pre-finals.
