Simo Puhakka (PCR / TM) took the advantage this time from the 2nd KZ2 heat from Gary Carlton (CRG / Maxter), followed by Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Matt Jaskol (Intrepid / TM). Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter) didn’t miss out at the start and was already 5th. On the second lap at the hairpin, Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) was attacked by Tony Lavanant (Energy / TM) and both were stuck in a bad position in the barriers. Visser was also hit by a competitor. The result, a severely bent frame, for the young driver who had a big fright.
Meanwhile, behind the leader Puhakka, Dreezen closed on Carlton but then his engine failed, Dreezen couldn’t avoid it and the two drivers retired. Jaskol was then second with Abbasse unleashed in his wake. Thomas Mich (Birel / TM) advanced to fourth, closely followed by Daniel Fuchs (Energy / TM). After the halfway point, Abbasse attacked and passed his friend Jaskol. The Sodi was in great shape and Abbasse was now up to speed with Puhakka. He overtook on lap 9. Jaskol also overtook on the next lap.
