2nd in the Euro Challenge, Jack Aitken leads after the qualifying heats with a perfect record: three wins in as many races. With three heats per driver on the schedule, the key was not to give up already. Caught in a collision, the pole sitter Estonian Martin Rump dropped to 9th place, while the winner of the Euro Challenge, the Dutch driver Joel Affolter, is in 19th.
The consistent Austrian Julian Wagner earned his place on the front row for the pre-final. Behind him is the Dutchman Dave Blom, winner of a heat, and the Croatian Martin Kodric. On Sunday, the American Nick Neri will be only 11th despite winning the first race of the meeting.
After a good comeback in a race, but also two other races which were more difficult in the middle of the pack, the French driver Jules Afonso found himself 52nd at the end of qualifying and he will need to gain many places in the repechage to win his ticket to the finals.
The Sodi ST30 seems to be particularly appreciated by the competitors in a small survey conducted in the paddock, where there is a great atmosphere.
