He did not have his helmet painted with the colors of Red Bull this year, but the South African Caleb Williams was apparently faster at La Conca than he was in 2009 in Egypt. For the second consecutive year he won the World Grand Final in Rotax Senior and his start from 32nd couldn’t prevent him from winning.
There were indeed some skirmishes at the start and Williams took advantage to slip through and complete the first lap in 9th position. He then passed his opponents one by one and was already in the lead in mid-race. New Zealander Joshua Hart also taken the lead by brilliantly taking Dane Kasper Jensen and Canadian Pier-Luc Ouellette, but he failed to deny Williams a second coronation.
After a good effort at the end of the race, the Austrian Ferenc Kancsar managed to complete the podium by overtaking Pier-Luc Ouellette. The latter drank the chalice to the dregs in 13th after a 10-second penalty for jumping the start. His younger brother Hugo had been meanwhile taken out at the first corner.
Starting 6th, Alexandre Benoit Bessac lacked the performance to hold his own and could only take the last place of the top 10. His compatriot Anthony Barthon suffered the wrath of the pack and made a furious finish in 20th position in a constantly fighting group.
