Everyone discussed the likely victory of Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) even before the start of the KZ2 final. In any case, Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) led from Roberto Toninelli (Lenzokart / TM) and Ardigo. Sauro Cesetti (Birel / BMB) took a knock from Roberto Piccoli (Tony Kart / Vortex) and went on the grass to retain 4th place. The first big happening was on lap 2. Toninelli took the lead ahead of Ardigo and Dreezen. Cesetti remained fourth, but Patrik Hajek (Tony Kart / Vortex) was fifth ahead of Piccoli, Riccardo Negro (DR / Parilla), Nicola Vallifuoco (Intrepid / TM), Ryan Van der Burgt (Maddox / Parilla) and Marco Pizzuti (Birel / TM). Gianni Gazzurelli (FA Kart / Vortex) was caught in the melee at the start and gained a little ground in 15th position, ahead of Jorrit Pex (CRG / Maxter).
The trio was still headed by Toninelli, the fastest, and Hajek gained 4th place from Cesetti. Dreezen replied on the line, but Toninelli regained his property on the next lap as we approached the halfway point. Ardigo, the fox, seemed to bide his time in second position. Hajek closed on Cesetti, Pex nibbled on Ardigos lead and this time was the fastest on the track. Toninelli still had the means to improve and protect his 2-3 tenths lead. Ardigo stopped to waiting with two laps remaining and went on the attack. Dreezen tried to get past but Toninelli did not let the place go. The Belgian was trying one last time on the last corner, but in vain.
Marco Ardigo won ahead of Toninelli and Dreezen, 4th was Hajek, 5th Cesetti by nothing (7 mils) fro Piccoli, 7th was Vallufuoco and 8th Pex. Gazzurelli finished 13th after being well beaten.
