He hadn’t threatened his rivals much in the heats, but Nyck De Vries has already taken over the reins in the first final in KF1.
But Ignazio D’Agosto (Tony Kart / Vortex) made the best start in the WSK Euro Series at Sarno. A collision at the first right involved drivers like Lennox, Hubert, Deguffroy, and Dale and Baron who retired. Meanwhile Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead, but faltered on lap 2 and soon returned to the pits. Leo Roussel (Sodi / Parilla) took third.
A new leader, D’Agosto was threatened by Karol Basz (RK / BMB), who was recovering from his poor start. Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) was fourth ahead of Alex Albon (Intrepid / TM), Sébastien Bailly (Kosmic / Vortex), Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter), Jordan Chamberlain (Intrepid / TM) and Chris Lock (Tony Kart / Vortex). De Vries and Albon took Roussel. We could see that Nyck was going faster and faster from lap 5 onwards. He took second and then first on laps 7 and 8. Basz remained second, but Albon, 3rd from Roussel and D’Agosto, was very strong. Roussel attacked D’Agosto with 2 laps to go, Albon threatened Basz threat but he closed the doors on the last lap.
De Vries won the race narrowly and Basz retained second, 5 / 100 in front of Albon, also hounded by Roussel. D’Agosto was 5th and Bailly 6th. Beautiful recovery by Laura Tillett (CRG / Maxter) who was 11th after many disappointments in the heats.
