With Thonon on pole, it was a Belgian favorite Belgian in Belgium in the World Cup for KZ1. However, despite the results of the pre-final, we can not rule out the other drivers in the title race, especially as the final will probably be held in more stable weather.
Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) got away first, but Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) attacked before the end of the first straight. The doors closed now, as the top drivers were in a group. Yannick De Brabander (Parolin / TM) fought with Kozlinski, Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) came through immediately and Visser attacked to take the lead of the race. De Brabander continued to improve and he was leading by the third of 22 laps, ahead of Lammers, Thonon, Fore and Visser. The fight continued unabated. Visser paid the price, suddenly falling to 16th, before retiring.
Thonon passed Fore for third place, not far ahead of Kozlinski in 5th place. The top 4 were very close. The fastest time went to Fore, Lammers was also faster than the leader De Brabander and Thonon wasn’t idle. A Parolin, an Intrepid and two CRGs were neck and neck for the Cup approaching the halfway point. Kozlinski was isolated in fifth position, while Sauro Cesetti (Birel / BMB), Antonio Piccioni (Parolin / TM) and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) fought for sixth.
L11: De Brabander made a bit of a gap to Fore by 3 / 10, now second, then Thonon and Lammers. Fore bounced back to the leader. But Thonon seized second place on lap 13. Piccioni took sixth place ahead of Ardigo, Cesetti, and Iglesias who were well insulated from each other. Thonon set the fastest lap. Lammers was a little behind, behind 8/10 behind Fore. De Conto and Catt also retired.
Lap 17: the positions and the gaps did not change at the front, but Thonon was 0.25 from the leader. Lap 20, Thonon was more pressing. Last lap, there was 0.175 between Thonon and De Brabander who defended, Thonon refined his trajectory and passed a few meters from the line, Thonon won the KZ1 World Cup ahead of compatriot De Brabander who was extremely disappointed.
