The last race of the meeting, the DD2 final promised a confrontation between the two Canadians on the front row: Pier-Luc Ouellette, dominating so far, and Nicholas Latifi, extremely fast during the pre-final. The spectators should also watch out for Jason Pringle (Australia), Jari Huttunen (Finland) and their pursuers, not to mention Marc Murray (South Africa) who was ready to take his revenge. The French driver Maxime Gravouille would probably have made a great recovery from 25th place. But it would unfortunately not possible for him, since he failed to start on the grid and had to give up before the start.
There was a crash in midfield after the start, but Ouellette got away perfectly with Latifi very close in his wake, Pringle threatening in the third position, closely followed by Huttunen. On the third lap, Latifi gave way to an attack from Pringle and Huttunen. Ouellette remained the leader, but under direct pressure from a highly motivated group. The proof of that was that Pringle soon went ahead. Latifi was the third in front of the Estonian Kenneth Hildebrand, then Huttunen and Murray. The top three remained clustered a few lengths in front of the chasing pack.
Ouellette appeared slightly faster in mid-race, as was seen during the pre-final, and he approached the leader Pringle. Hidebrand fell to eighth in the battle. On lap 15, Ouellette attacked and passed Pringle with Latifi in his wake. He tried to take advantage of his teammate but in vain. Huttunen had now joined the leading group. Ouellette had a small lead. Pringle pushed Latifi out wide and flowed into the gap to take over second and start to threaten the leader.
On the last lap, it was very hot between Ouellette and Pringle. Latifi made a small mistake and lost third place to Huttunen. Pier-Luc Ouellette managed to contain Jason Pringle to the finish line and won the final.
