In KF2 and especially KF3 the racing on Sunday at Varennes had changed from the previous day. The bubbling temperament of the younger ones sometimes went over the top, but the victory of the Spanish driver Russo was well deserved. Moineault in KF2 did well for his first meeting in France and Roy asserted himself as the leader in KZ2.
Russo, secure and improving fast in KF3
Thomas Landais began the day with pole ahead of the Finn Aatu Moilanen and Bryan Elpitiya. Guillermo Russo won his semifinal after starting 23rd in an eventful race, with Alec Weckstrom and Gabriel Aubry in second and third places. There was suspense in the other semi-final where the result in the last seconds was: Moilanen first, second de Leval and third Bonduel. The final was wild and many drivers were left on the sidelines. Russo led the race from start to finish, while Besancenez settled quickly and sustainably in second. The battle raged for 3rd place between Charles Machado Dorian Guldenfels and Alexandre Gadois. But it was finally Matteo Raspatelli who recovered after an unfortunate contact which eliminated Machado in the last corner.
Moineault his first victory in KF2
Paul Boutonnet set the fastest lap time and Charles Lelcerc won the prefinal. But the young Valentin Moineault took the prize in his second competition of the year and he learned from his battle with Leclerc in the prefinal. With a solid lead at the halfway point he won a great victory from Leclerc, who finally managed to outrun the pack. Paul Boutonnet has been the revelation of the meeting, very fast and a good attacker, managing to reach the podium in his first race in KF2 after moving up from Cadet. Vincent Fraïsse led early in the race and was at the front.
Roy wins twice in KZ2
Sunday was faultless for Maxim Roy in the GPO. After pole in qualifying, Roy won the prefinal from Charles Fiault and Cedric Goudant. The start of the final saw other drivers at the front, Goudant, Julien Poncelet, then Mathieu Gaillard. But Roy returned quickly in the wheelstracks of Gaillard and moved to the lead when he dropped out with an engine failure. Poncelet made a nice comeback by taking second place. Christophe Benoit finished third, but received a penalty for his start, so Pierre Ragues took the third step of the podium.
