Part of the French delegation at Wackersdorf in 2011.
Since the CIK made the wise decision to run the European Championship as a single event in 2011, the entry has surged to a record 122 at Wackersdorf this year, from 28 different countries. As required by the regulation, the top 6 in the final rankings are not allowed to race again the following year. But there are many of the best international drivers who deserve the status as favorite: Ricardo Negro (DR / TM), Martin Doubek (Praga / TM), Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Maxter), Philipp Orcic (CRG / TM), Simas Juodvirsis (Energy / TM), Dylan Davies (PCR / TM), Marco Zanchetta (Energy / TM), …
Other drivers to watch out for: Alberto Cavalieri (BRM / Maxter), Massimo Dante (CKR / TM), Daniele Delli Compagni (CRG / TM), Michele Di Martino (Energy / TM), Andreas Fasberg (Tony Kart / Vortex), Adam Janous (Praga / Parilla), Yuri Lucati (Kosmic / TM), Douglas Lundberg (CKR / TM), Jan Midrla (Birel / TM), Kenneth Ostvold (Energy / Vortex), Yard Pex (CRG / TM), Ricardo Romkema (Energy / TM), Loris Spinelli (Formula K / TM), Luca Tilloca (Kali Kart / TM), Ryan Van Der Burgt (Maddox / TM), plus all the drivers who are less well known outside their home country.
The French delegation has 15 competitors. Alexandre Arrue (Righetti / TM) has already had a chance to shine internationally, while the French Championship leader, Maxim Roy (Tony Kart / TM) and his rival Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) compete in national races. Christophe Benoit (Birel / TM), Clement Da Silva (Praga / TM) and Morgan Weber (Merlin / TM) are regulars in Euro KZ2. A champion with a respectable track record, Julien Poncelet (ART GP / TM) showed a great fighting spirit. Charly Bizalion (Kosmic / Vortex), Paul David (Merlin / TM), Adam Maatougui (Energy / TM), David Manera (Birel / TM), Nolan Mantione (Birel / TM), Laurent Merchandise (CRG / Maxter), Francois Santoni (PCR / TM) and Yohan Soguel (Intrepid / Seven) are also racing under the tricolor.
