It was under an autumn rain, although consistent, that the GPO started at Ostricourt on Saturday morning July 14. The JPR Racing Kart track was of course quite wet, and the warm-up allowed us to watch number of tricks although they were probably not all necessary. KZ2 started the qualifying sessions. Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) dominated, amidst showers of rain, setting several consecutive fastest laps which ended with a time of 1’09” 267, securing pole position, nearly a second ahead of Nolan Mantione (Birel / TM), closely followed by Pierre Ragues (Sodi / Maxter). 4th place went to Francois Santoni (PCR / TM) and fifth to Eric Goron (Intrepid / TM). Unfortunately, Julien Poncelet, who is present at Ostricourt, has traded his racesuit for a mechanic’s uniform, which has lost the championship one of its most outspoken leaders.
