Charles Leclerc (ART GP) made a very good start for the first pre-final of the U18 World Championship in Angerville. But Anthoine Hubert (Formula K) was quick to take second, then first from the second lap, demonstrating his motivation. Joseph Mawson (Top Kart) and Ricky Collard (ART GP) exchanged second position, followed by Martin Mortensen (Formula K), Henry Easthope (Sodi) and Leclerc, then Matthew Graham (Zanardi) and German Villanueva (Formula K).
Mortensen attacked Mawson for third place with sparks flying. Meanwhile, Hubert Petit and Jules Gounon, both on Sodi, were close to the top 10, and Enzo Marchetti (PCR) was 15th. Anthoine Hubert stretched a gap of more than 2.5” and easily won the first race. Mortensen attacked Collard on the last lap to take 2nd position. Mawson retired and Easthope finished 4th from Graham, Villanueva and Leclerc in 7th. Gounon took 10th place from Petit with Marchetti 14th.
