At the second round of the U18 World Championship, the British driver Henry Easthope maintained his leadership in the provisional classification after constantly fighting in the lead pack. He was always among the fastest drivers up to the final race, when his race performances did not allow him to compete for victory and his recovery drive stopped in 7th position.
Hubert Petit showed some good performances at the world meeting at Angerville, behind the wheel of his Sodi, and skilfully gained access to the two pre-finals, a result that made him forget his setbacks in the qualifying heats. Then Petit maintained his position in the final race by concluding with a superb 5th place and re-entered the top 10, in the 9th place of the classification.
As for Jules Gounon, he confirmed the high potential shown at Braga during the first round. He also moved up one position in the championship (12th) after a convincing performance. In the meanwhile, Antoine Rocard made a remarkable debut in the category by gaining access right away to 18th place in the standings, despite his absence in Portugal.
Sodi can therefore look with confidence to the last round of 2012 U18 World Championship, to be held in Bahrain in November, with the title in its line of sight.
