The 7 Laghi Int. Circuit in Castelletto di Branduzzo, Pavia (Italy) hosts the WSK Final Cup 2012. IAME, is present on the track in all categories (KZ2, KF2, KF3, 60 Mini) and collects one victory and two podiums. Vanished victory in KZ2 due to a penalty.
KF3
Ilott (Zanardi/Parilla) is the winner of the WSK Final Cup: in the final he drives perfectly and achieves, after the WSK Master Seris, another important title. 4th in the time qualifying, he then wins three heats out of four (3rd place in the last one) and scores two best laps: at the count of the penalties he is 2nd . He wins the pre-final B with the best lap and then triumphs again in the final. Behind him come Haapalainen (ART GP/Parilla), Florescu (Zanardi/Parilla) and Stura (Top Kart/Parilla), they respectively finish the final in 8th , 9th and 11th place. Florescu is 4th in the pre-final A and so does Antonov (CRG/Parilla) in the pre-final B, beside then being excluded from the final. Stroll (Zanardi/Parilla) improves all week-end long and finishes 12th . Worth of mention for Sereia (PCR/Parilla), 15th overall.
KZ2
Bas Lammers and Patrik Hajek (both Praga/Parilla) achieve a splendid double shot under the chequered flag but a 10 seconds penalty due to false start, downgrades them to the 4th and 5th place. They miss an otherwise incredible podium only for a blink of an eye, but again they demonstrated the full health of the IAME engines.
In the heats Lammers is 3rd (with the best lap) then 2nd and 10th (formerly 1st but again penalized and forced to downgrade). In the pre-final he starts 4th and wins with no opponent that could challenge him. The only threat for him comes from Hajek, 3th in the pre-final with the best lap (after two best lap scored in the heats) and right behind him in the final. Great performance and some bad luck for Cesetti (Top Kart/Parilla): he does better and better in the heats (9th , 6th and 2nd), then in the pre final he suffers a technical problem while he is 5th . He starts from the 23rd place in the final and beside being victim of a curious episode involving another driver, he is superb and is able to get the 7th overall place after an incredible recovery.
Bas Lammers, KZ2
KF2
6 IAME drivers in the first 8 positions of the final at the end of week-end. Great performance from Vivacqua (Zanardi/Parilla), 5th in the pre-final and up to 2nd in the final, this means another podium in a significant international competition.
The completion of the IAME performance comes from Viganò (Top Kart/Parilla): 4th overall, after being the best in the time qualifying, one victory in the heats and 3rd in the pre-final and Leclerc (ART GP/Parilla): 2nd in the pre-final and 5th in the final. Well done also for Guazzaroni (Top Kart/Parilla), 6th in the final and 8th in the pre-final after some troubled heats, his team mate Lavelli, 7th in the final and Snell (Energy/Parilla), 8th . Rossel (Energy/Parilla) is 11th, while Maestranzi (PCR/Parilla), after being one of the protagonists all week end long, is forced to leave the final.
60 Mini
Great podium for “Skeed” (Top Kart/Parilla) that finishes the final in 3rd place as one of the main protagonists . 1st after the time qualifying, he wins one heat and starts the pre-final from the 4th place. Here he scores the best lap and finishes 2nd.
Too bad a penalty forces him to downgrade to the 3rd place. In the final he fights for victory till the last curve and finally conquers a very well earned podium. Abrusci and Zailinger (both Top Kart/Parilla) respectively finish 15th and 18th in the final.
