The third round of the Rotax Euro Challenge 2013 is taking place in Britain at PF International. Qualifying was held on Friday afternoon.
In Junior, Josh Price (Tony Kart – Price Racing) was on 58” 101, two thousandths of a second in front of the Austrian Thomas Preining (Tony Kart – Protrain Racing), while David Wooder (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) followed by 9 mils. In fourth position, Connor Hall (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) conceded a tenth, ahead of Philip Rawson (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing). 7 British drivers monopolized the top 10. A potential leader of the class, Jack Bartholomew, was disqualified for a technical problem.
Philip Morin (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) proved to be the fastest in the Senior class with 56” 500, but again, it was tight, as the second, Pierce Lehane (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) was on ?his heels by 5/100, while Mark Litchfield (Kosmic – Paul Carr Racing) followed in third position by 0.139” and Harry Webb (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) by 0.318”. The top French driver is Jules Cousin (FA Kart – Kart DSS) in 18th position, Cecilia Martini (Sodi – Martini Racing) is in 37th and Anthoine Barthon (FK – FK AB Racing Team), 39th.
Unsurprisingly Xen De Ruwe (FK – FK AB Racing Team) was the fastest in DD2 with a time of 55” 575, Andreas Backman (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) was second by 49 thousandths. The Hungarian Ferenc Kanscar (Birel – KMS Europe) finished third ahead of Lucas Orrock (Kosmic – Team Orrock) and Sean Babington (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) in fifth, Ben Cooper (Birel – KMS Europe) sixth and Alessandro Manetti (Praga – Josh Hart Racing) in seventh position.
