H10, D against F, Pulcini wins
As surprising as it may seem after the rainfall of the night, the Sarno track proved raceable on Sunday morning, albeit an hour late, for further qualifying heats of the KFJ World Championship.
Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) had the lead, but Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart / Vortex) took control on the first lap ahead of Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex), Remigio Garofano (Tony Kart / LKE), Sasakorn Chaimongkol ( Kosmic / TM) and Philipp Hall (Tony Kart / Vortex). Although the start went well, there was a big crash in the middle of the circuit which split the pack. Pulcini was well ahead of Ahmed, both with gaps. At halfway Garofano yielded to Chaimongkol and Hall. Timi Tolvanen (ART GP / TM) made another impressive rise to fourth position (21 places). Victory went to Pulcini, with the fastest lap ahead of Ahmed with Chaimongkol third, Tolvanen fourth, Hall fifth.
M11, A against E: Ticktum ensures the win
The weather was dry, but the track wet for the second heat of the day. It was an eventful first lap, with Giuliano Raucci (Energy / TM) pushed off the track at the first corner, then at the hairpin in an already intense fight. Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) took the lead passing Amaury Bonduel (ART GP / TM), Jules Bollier (Kosmic / Parilla), and Maurizio Baiz in fourth. Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart / TM) dropped to 22nd ahead of Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and David Beckmann (Zanardi / TM). Bryan Elpitiya (Energy / TM) and Niko Kari (FA Kart / Vortex) were some of those off at the first turn.
Dionysus Marcu (CRG / BMB) grabbed third position from Bollier and was followed by Artem Petrov (Tony Kart / BMB), Federico Squaranti (Kosmic / Vortex) and Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic / Vortex). Ticktum was more than 3” in the lead by halfway with Bonduel 3” also ahead of Bollier who had secured 3rd place. Shwartzman was 9th, Norris 10th. Ticktum won the race and set the fastest lap ahead of Bonduel and Bollier, Marcu was 4th, Lessennes fifth, Shwartzman sixth, Squaranti seventh and Norris 8th.
H12, B against C: Sitnikov unbeatable on a slippery track
A good maneuver for Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) initially kept him well outside of the first corner and started the straight at full speed. Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB) in second passed Gabriel Sereia (Birel / Parilla), Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) 4th, Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) 5th and Gabriel Aubry (FA Kart / TM) sixth, very a good start. Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex) was in trouble at the hairpin, Max Defourny (Tony Kart / TM) dropped out on the second lap while Sitnikov seized the lead. The Argentine Kevin Quevedo (Tony Kart / LKE) stood out in sixth position ahead of Aubry and Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex).
At halfway Sitnikov was detached in first position, second was Lorandi by 2” and Sereia third, fourth was Daruvala and Fewtrell was fifth. The battle for 2nd place looked tight between Lorandi, Daruvala and Sereia. Daruvala braked incredible late and passed Lorandi who immediately repassed. Victory and fastest lap went to Sitnikov, Lorandi was 2nd, Daruvala 3rd, Sereia 4th, Mazepin 5th and Fewtrell. Vartanyan was still moving up in 11th and Defourny was 12yh.
