With the temperature at 25 ° C, the Junior prefinal started in good conditions, but the “slow” procedure was initiated on the second lap after an incident. Kyle Kirkwood (USA) led from Jüri Vips (EST), Juan Correa (USA), Jeffrey Kingsley CAN), Brett Ward (UK) and Thomas Issa (JAM). Bastien Leguay (FRA) was pushed hard and fell to 32nd with a damaged kart. At the restart, Vips led ahead of Ward, and passed shortly after. Issa dropped to 9th, Kirkwood 13th and Kingsley 15th. Behind the pair, Ward and Vips, Luke Selliken (USA) was ahead of Joseph Burton-Harris (AUS), then later, Tom Harvey (UK) returned, followed by Correa and Ashley Rogero (USA). On lap 8 Kirkwood re-entered the top 10. Although the leading duo were relatively quiet, it was not the same in the chasing trio. Ward easily controlled Vips and won the race, Harvey got third place ahead of Selliken and Burton-Harris. Bastien Leguay finished 26th.
