The CIK programme is full this weekend with the opening round of the European KZ and KZ2 Championships, the 3rd European KF round and the start of the Academy Trophy. 20 French drivers will be competing, which places the country in the top 3.
There is a great challenge ahead for Alexander Vromant, a driver from the 10-15 programme, who will make his debut in the Academy Trophy, against 49 other young people aged from 13 to 15 years, some of whom already have good international experience.
In KF, better results are hoped for than at Zuera, where only Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / TM) was able to shine as expected. One may wish for fewer problems for Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex), more power from the IAMEs of Nicolas Gonzales (Kosmic / Parilla) and Alexandre Gadois (FA Kart / Parilla) and rapid integration into his new team for Julien Darras (ART GP / TM).
In KZ, Kozlinski (Intrepid / TM) and Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE) are sharp in international competition this season, while Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) is back in 125 gearbox after a successful event in Rotax DD2, with the main objective to prepare for the world championship. Maxime Roy (Tony Kart / Vortex), Paul David (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex), who are attempting the KZ adventure this year, could well surprise among the 37 entries.
8 French competitors have entered KZ2. Yohann Cresson (Tony Kart / Vortex) will be keen to take revenge for the International Super Cup at Varennes in 2013 as will Adam Maatougui (Energy / TM). Amaury Bonduel (ART GP / TM) has strong ambitions, Antoine Bottiroli will take the wheel of a GP Racing kart with TM engine and Julien Deharte will be on a CRG / Vortex. The CPB Sport team has entered three drivers on Alpha / TM: Charly Bizalion, Louis Bonsaudo and Thomas Maingre.
