Rotax presented its new range of Max Evo engines yesterday in Valencia.
“We have optimized the engine performance to meet the needs of our customers while equalizing opportunities for all. The result: competition will be more fierce, and drivers will have more fun,” said the official statement.
Several important aspects have been reviewed and improved: driving pleasure, longevity, reliability, fairness and noise reduction. For this, the Max Evo uses a new carburettor from Dell Orto, the VHSB 34 XS which is already being used in the Grand Final, an electronically managed exhaust valve in connection with the ignition box also from Dell Orto. The connecting rod, piston and exhaust have been redesigned, and the battery module now includes the start button.
The Max Evo range will be available at dealers in December 2014, at a very slightly increased price (between 3 and 5%). It will be possible to upgrade the current generation of engines with kits. The international categories will adopt it from 2015, but each country will manage the transition in it’s own way.
In France, a new category of Max Evo (Senior) will be launched in 2015 alongside the existing categories. Federal categories will remain faithful to the original rules and engines.
Further details will soon be published.
