After a cloudy period, the weather returned to beautiful and the temperature increased on the Le Mans circuit for qualifying for the of the KZ2 International Super Cup.
In the first of four sessions Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Maxter) eventually imposed with 51”218, while Pierre Lobère (Sodi / TM) joined him at 38 thousandths at the end of the session. The Japanese driver Fuma Horio (CRG / Maxter) took a surprising 3rd position ahead of the Italians Alessandro Pelizzari (CKR / Modena) and Tommaso Mosca (Maranello / TM). Gabin Leuillet (Sodi / TM) set the 8th fastest time, Emilien Carde (Kosmic / TM) 10th ahead of Ludovic Godard (FA Kart / Vortex) and Kevin Breysse (Evokart / Parilla) in 13th.
Tom Josef Lorkowski (Righetti / Modena) dominated the end of the second session, approaching Hiltbrand’s reference time by 9 thousandths. Marijn Kremers (BirelART / Parilla) then moved into 2nd position ahead of the Italians Luca Tilloca (DR / Modena), Massimo Mazzali (Croc Promotions / TM) and Lorenzo Camplese (Parolin / TM).
The battle was fiercest in the third session, especially between Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla). But Nicolas Gonzales (Sodi / TM) finished with 51”153 in the very last metres, provisional pole position, ahead of Pescador, Alberto Cavalieri (Righetti / Modena), Laurent and Antonio Piccioni (Righetti / Modena).
Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG / TM) dominated the fourth and final session while his opponents continued to take turns behind him. But Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) with 51”434 and Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex)went ahead on the last lap, while Emil Skaras and Simone Favaro took 4th and 5th positions.
