The weather continues to improve over Le Mans with sunny periods for the start of Prefinal 2 of the KZ2 International Super Cup. The front row was 100% French with Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Pierre Loubère (Sodi / TM). Starting on the inside, Loubère was the early leader from Laurent while a minor crash occurred in the pack. Charles Fiault (Sodi / Parilla) was 3rd ahead of Lorenzo Camplese (Parolin / TM) and Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex). Laurent took the lead from the second lap, Fiault attacked Loubère. Further back, Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) pushed to get into the top 17 of qualified drivers. The top five widened the gap to Fabian Federer (CRG / Maxter) and Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG / TM).
Fiault attacked Laurent and took control on the sixth lap. Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex) retired halfway through. Fiault took a few steps ahead of the situation that was likely to develop for 2nd place with Loubère very close to Laurent. Besancenez succeeded in his quest with 15th position but Emilien Carde (Kosmic / Vortex) had to concede several places. Laurent went on the attack with three laps to go and overtook Fiault under breaking. Corberi and Federer competed for 5th place. Loubère then recovered 2nd position from Fiault who found himself under threat from Camplese.
It was a strong victory for Laurent, assured of starting in pole for the final, ahead of Loubère, Fiault and Camplese. Federer was 5th ahead of Corberi. Besancenez finished 14th.
